The Department of Business & Management Studies at the Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, warmly welcomed over 200 new undergraduate students during the inauguration ceremony of the Orientation Program held on June 28, 2023, at the Mini Auditorium, IT Building. Led by Mrs. V. Leninkumar, Head of the Department, the ceremony provided an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the Faculty of Communication & Business Studies and university life. The event featured insightful addresses from esteemed leaders, including Prof. (Mrs) Chandravathany G Devadason, Rector, and Mr T. Baskar, Dean, who highlighted the importance of embracing progressive technology and university culture for academic success. Students also received valuable guidance on the code of conduct and discipline from Mr D. Ruwan Lakjeewa, Senior Student Counsellor, and Mr S. Sivarasah, Assistant Registrar of Student Affairs. The ceremony, attended by Heads of other Departments, academic members, and administrative staff, was live-streamed to ensure wider participation, fostering a sense of community among students and faculty. The Orientation Program continued until July 7, 2023, offering diverse activities such as field visits, motivational programs, and extracurricular activities, enriching the overall student experience and facilitating a smooth transition into university life. As the event concluded, Mrs. L. M. A. Shamila, Batch Coordinator for the 2021/2022 batch, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the new intake.
